ABOUT TIMOTHY

Timothy Rosenberg is a dynamic, expressive saxophonist committed to teaching, performing, and arranging classical and contemporary works in solo and ensemble settings. Timothy is also an accomplished recording engineer specializing in classical music and jazz. He is currently the Graduate Assistant in Recording Services at Michigan State University's College of Music. Timothy's recordings have been featured on WKAR Radio in East Lansing, MI.

Currently Timothy is working on his document "Interpreting the Saxophone Music of William Albright: a Surrealist Approach" which he will present in the Fall. Also beginning in August Timothy will serve on the faculty of Ithaca College as Intrim Professor of Saxophone for Dr. Steven Mauk.

Timothy received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Performance from Ithaca College in 2005 where his teachers included Steven Mauk and Connie Frigo. Timothy enjoys exploring new music as well as the "standards" of the saxophone repertoire. Timothy received his Master's Degree in 2008 from Michigan State University and is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Music Performance under the tutelage of Professor Joseph Lulloff. Timothy's other teachers include Claude Delange, Vincent David, and Jean-Denis Michat.

Timothy has played baritone saxophone for the Cayuga Saxophone Quartet and the Fischoff Gold Medal Winning H2 Saxophone Quartet. Timothy has played at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Chamber Music Competition and the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, Ithaca College, Elmira College, SUNY Binghamton, the 2006 and 2007 Navy Saxophone Symposium and the 2006 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference in Iowa City, IA and the 2008 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference in Columbia, SC.
